Stephanie GONZALEZ PASSION AWARD
Stephanie Gonzalez is an educator, activist, and community advocate who has helped first-generation students attend, prepare, and excel in college. While serving as a staff member at Mt. San Antonio College, Stephanie has been committed to ensuring access, and providing academic support to students, helping them navigate higher education. She is also dedicated to assisting students in exploring and developing themselves in holistic ways. She devotes her time, energy and effort into the students she serves, placing empathy, authenticity, and encouragement at the forefront of her practice. Stephanie promotes growth through healing from experiences and embracing the identities an individual holds. The work she has done and continues to do, in the realm of education, has positively impacted the lives of numerous amounts of students. When students need someone to believe in them, she is and always has been there to validate them. Stephanie Gonzalez is someone who has embodied intentionality, resilience, and leadership in her endeavors which has continually shown the world, that one person can truly make a difference. This stipend is created and will be awarded annually in her honor.

Eligibility Requirements: In order to be considered eligible for The Stephanie Gonzalez Passion Award students must:

Be considered a first-generation or low-income student

Have a minimum G.P.A. of 2.5

Demonstrate both financial need and disadvantaged/”non-traditional” status

Submit a response to application questions
*Financial Aid Award letter may act as proof of first-generation/low-income status
*Letter from counselor or advisor qualifies for High School students
